Content Guidelines.

Content Guidelines.

1. What we publish and why

Pretty Good Group owns and operates three publications. Must Do covers things to do and city guides. The Bantr covers culture and news. Place Notes covers places worth knowing. Across all three, we aim to publish content that is useful, interesting and worth your time. If something doesn't help our audience discover, understand or enjoy something, we don't publish it.

2. Quality and accuracy

We check facts before we publish, and we try to get the details right, from opening hours to the names of the people involved. When we get something wrong, we correct it as quickly as we can. We keep our opinions clearly separate from news, and we don't publish headlines or captions that promise something the content doesn't deliver.

3. Respect and inclusivity

Our audience spans many cities, backgrounds and points of view. We write for all of them. We treat the people, places and communities we cover with respect, and we avoid stereotypes and content that punches down. We can be funny, opinionated and direct without being cruel.

4. What we don't publish or promote

We don't publish, share or partner on content that:

  • Promotes hate or discrimination against people based on who they are

  • Harasses, bullies, threatens or targets individuals

  • Encourages dangerous or illegal activity

  • Makes misleading health, medical or financial claims

  • Contains graphic violence or gratuitously disturbing material

  • Is sexually explicit

  • Is deliberately false or misleading

This applies equally to editorial content, branded content and anything we reshare.

5. Branded and partner content

Brand partnerships are part of how we fund our work, and we hold them to the same standards as everything else we publish.

  • Clearly disclosed. Branded, sponsored and paid content is always labelled, so our audience knows when a partner is involved.

  • On brand. Partner content has to fit the publication it appears in and be something our audience would actually want to see.

  • Honest. We don't make claims about a product or service that we can't stand behind, and we don't take on partners whose products or messaging conflict with these guidelines.

6. Credit and rights

Creators, photographers, videographers and musicians deserve credit for their work. We credit original creators wherever we can and use content we have the rights or permission to use, including music. If you see your work on one of our channels and want it credited differently or removed, email hello@prettygoodgroup.com with a link to the post and details of your original work. We'll review it and respond promptly.

7. User submissions and tags

We love featuring content from our community. When you submit content to us, or tag one of our publications or channels, you confirm that you created it or have the rights to share it, and that it follows these guidelines. We may feature it on our channels, and when we do, we'll aim to credit you. If you'd rather not be featured, let us know and we'll respect that.

8. Community conduct

Our comments and DMs should be places people want to be. We ask everyone to:

  • Be respectful, even when you disagree

  • Skip the harassment, hate speech, threats and personal attacks

  • Avoid spam, scams and unsolicited self-promotion

  • Respect other people's privacy and never share their personal information

We may hide or remove comments, and block or restrict accounts, that break these rules.

9. Reporting content or concerns

If you see something on one of our channels that you think breaks these guidelines, or you have a concern about how we've covered something, email hello@prettygoodgroup.com. Include a link to the content and a short description of the issue. We read every report and take appropriate action.

10. Updates

We may update these guidelines as our publications and platforms evolve. The current version will always be on this page.
